Introduction to Pathfinder

So you want to be a Pathfinder? Then step right in to a world beset by powerful magics and dastardly evils as you adventure through Golarion, forging your own path and making a name for yourself.

The Pathfinder Roleplaying Game is a type of Tabletop Roleplaying Game that can be played with few restrictions. All that's really needed is the access to the Core Rule Book, which outlays the basic mechanics of play, a set of dice, and some friends!

Pathfinder Roleplaying Game was published in 2009, by Paizo Publishing. Based loosely on Dungeons & Dragons 3rd Edition, Pathfinder underwent a year of serious play-testing before publishing to ensure character balances and fixing various "broken" and "imba" rules plaguing the 3.5 edition.

Pathfinder takes place in a fictitious world called Golarion, where players create their own avatars and embark on adventures ruled over by the nefarious Game Master. In this fantasy setting, your characters can take on daring deeds and accomplish various goals similar to what you'd see in Lord of the Rings or a computer game like Dragon Age - the catch is, the sky's the limit when it comes to what you can do. Think that you know enough information to bribe the evil drug lord and take over his cartel instead of beating them into oblivion? How about luring a dragon and a hydra into fighting with each other while you steal all the treasures? Or maybe, it was so obvious that the scrawny little kid who built pod racers was so obviously going to be a major baddie that you could see from 50 lightyears away and you wished you could have just killed him on the spot and be done with it. Well, in Pathfinder, you can.
